Well, you did in fact miss the picture, but it is only one picture.
I have no idea why, of all the black athletes who bought my book
and video on stretching, only Anthony L. Wallace kindly sent in his
picture (see http://www.stadion.com/photos.html).
And yes, you
should send your picture even though you won't be the first.
As for the story that having higher density of muscles makes it
harder for black athletes to be flexible--it is another excuse of
the dull and lazy. Whoever came up with this excuse, and all those
who believe it, must live blindfolded. Think! What about all the
black dancers--from ballet to breakdance? Don't they do splits
every which way? What about black track-and-field hurdlers?
Even if it were true that it's harder for black athletes to do
splits--then how much harder? Twice as hard? Three times as hard?
If so, then doing a full split, which takes my fit customers with
lower density of musculature about two months (and very often
much less), should take those with higher density of musculature
from four months to six months. So, even if it does take longer (and
I'm not saying that it does), there is still no reason why black
athletes cannot achieve the same degree of flexibility as others
who use my method. But there are many people who'll invent any
excuse for not learning better ways, and unfortunately there are
also many people who will accept this nonsense for fact and not
even try to improve themselves. True athletes (like you) challenge
these misconceptions.
Best regards,
Thomas Kurz
